Remote Assistance using invitation file over internet

Question
-
Hi,
Remote Assistance is available through Invitation file and Easy Connect options. We have systems in private domain that need assistance over internet, since service engineers are outside private domain.
Thus I wanted to know, if I create invitation file and send it to Service Engineer outside domain. Shall he/she be able to open that file and take remote of a system that is in private domain.
Or I must use Easy Connect option to provide remote assistance over internet. Please confirm.
In case invitation file can be used over internet for remote assistance, then do we need any additional configuration, like domain, server name etc.
Appreciate any help or details on above.
Thanks,
Ajay

Hi Ajay,
Thanks for posting in MSDN forum.
It seems that you have no VC++ question. I will move this to Where is the forum for.. forum to find a better forum the Remote Assistance issue.
Thanks for your understanding.

Thank you Dave for the information.
MS Support link mentions expert user and the computer of the novice user must be members of trusted domains. It is not clear whether both computers can be members of different trusted domains. Also article is applicable for Win XP and Win Server 2003 whereas I was interested from Win 7 perspective.
As suggested by you I have posted query on other MS forums.
Please let me know in case you get any more details.
Thank you once again.
Regards,
Ajay

Hello,
The Windows Desktop Perfmon and Diagnostic tools forum is to discuss performance monitor (perfmon), resource monitor (resmon), and task manager, focusing on HOW-TO, Errors/Problems, and usage scenarios.
As the question is off topic here, I am merging it with one of your identical questions in the Where is the Forum... forum.Karl
