Problem with license in OCS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've installed OCS 2007 R2 using the setup files downloaded from our Volume Licensing Portal.

the installation is complete but the service will not start as it says the eval period has expired and it must be upgrade.

I found an article which explains how to upgrade the license using the command below:

     MsiExec.exe /i Server.msi EVALTOFULL=1

When I do this I get the following error:

EVALTOFULL parameter cannot be used with currently installed license type Volume

Does anybody know how to resolve this issue?

    Kind Regards

    Ana Romo

  • Hi,

Is the OCS that you've download a MSDN version.

You may refer to the pre-requisite of this command from here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/9/e/79ed5787-fb03-41b4-8973-12236b9f0fc8/OCS_Upgrade_Eval_to_Full.doc

  • If you have full version and it worked until now, than tha latest patch MS09-056 has something to do with it.
Just remove KB974571 and you are on a safe side. Also don't forget to block this patch until there is newer one, otherwise the day after your OCS will stop again.
I have confirmation that there will be a patch to this update soon.
