Hi Sabregirl,
Did you already either switch the new key into Windows using the Windows Product Key Update Tool (http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/selfhelp/pkuinstructions.aspx ) or did you reinstall Windows using the new key?
If you haven't, please do so first.
If you have done one of the above and the new key is in Windows, then thry to open the Windows Product Activation wizard by clicking Start, then Run, and type in "oobe/msoobe /a", then press the Enter key located on your keyboard.
