Please assist...cannot activate windows RRS feed

  • Question

  • I purchased a new windows key because the Genuine software said mine was not valid.  However, when I go to activate windows, the wizard doesn't start and all I get is "this program cannot display this webpage" message.  How do I activate windows if I can't get the wizard to work?  I tried manually running the program and I get the same message.

  • Hi Sabregirl,

Did you already either switch the new key into Windows using the Windows Product Key Update Tool (http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/selfhelp/pkuinstructions.aspx ) or did you reinstall Windows using the new key?

If you haven't, please do so first.

If you have done one of the above and the new key is in Windows, then thry to open the Windows Product Activation wizard by clicking Start, then Run, and type in "oobe/msoobe /a", then press the Enter key located on your keyboard.

    Thank you,
