Not Connected to Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Noticed this week that my Vista PC is no longer connected to my home server, its worked fine for 7-8 months, there are no netowrk issues, I can ping she server and browse the shared folders from the Vista PC, when I log onto the console the PC is grayed out like its turned off, and on the Vista PC I get not connected to server on the tray icon, whats the easiest way to fix it?, reinstall the connector? would I lose my backup history if so?

I have tried running the Discover.exe that did not work

    Thanks.

  • Before doing anything else: Did you try to reboot the server?

  • Which version numbers does the console show in Settings/Ressources?
Which security suite is installed on the Vista-PC?
The best method to resolve such issues, which have no deeper background, could really be to uninstall the connector software from the client, reboot, delete the remains (if there are any) in C:\Program Files\Home Server Connector Software and install it again from http://server:55000 or from the Software share (in folder Home Server Connector Software run setup.exe).
