WHS 2011 - Cannot connect client to server (Connect a Computer to the Server) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Problem: I am not able to connect a new client desktop (Windows 7 Home Premium) to WHS 2011 via the Connect application.  Thus, I am unable to have automatic backups performed.

    Symptoms:

    • Downloaded the application from the server (<server name>/connect).
    • Ran through the steps, application seems to find server, e.g. one step required entering password for the server.
    • Able to access server folders through file explorer across the network.
    • Able to remote desktop into server.
    • Blocked with following error message:

Cannot connect this computer to the network

The server is not available.  Try connecting this computer again, or for more information see Troubleshoot connecting computers to the server.

Below is the output from the ClientDeploy log and the error dialog.

    Any help appreciated.  Thanks.
