  • Hi, SQLMa.

That is strange; I didn't seem to have any problems.

I just went to http://www.register.prometric.com/ and tried to register for that same exam, 70-461.

    Here is what I did:

    1. I chose the country of Australia and clicked Next.
    2. I clicked LOCATE A TEST CENTER.
    3. For Client, I selected Microsoft.
    4. For Program, I selected the default Microsoft (070, 071, 074, MBx) and clicked Next.
    5. At the Microsoft logo, I clicked Next.
    6. For Exam, I selected 070-461 - Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012.
    7. For Language, I selected the default U.S. ENGLISH.
    8. For Currencies, I selected the default and only choice AUD.
    9. It displays a NET PRICE of 206.00 AUD, so I clicked Next.
    10. Three pages of testing locations appear, totaling 42 test sites.

This was just now on my Windows 8 phone.

Perhaps try a different web browser.

    Good luck!

  • Hi Davin,

I think you were lucky, yes the site is terrible.

  • Yes - I have had it bomb occasionally on me too. It just tells me that it is down and then I can't register for an exam.

Wait a few hours and try again.

    That's all we can do.

  • I couldn't get in today either.

Hopefully, later. I hope that Pearson will have a better site when they take over for Prometric in January, 2015.

    Good luck!

  • Um, so is Prometric being canned then (finally, be still my beating heart).  Prometric is by far THE WORST company I have EVER dealt with.

What will happen to our multi-exam vouchers then?  Anyone know?

I can't even begin to explain the problems I've had with them over the years, their website is appallingly bad and it hasn't changed for as long as I can remember, over ten years, they just keep putting a newer front end on it but it's the same crappy software.  I just phoned the test centre and they told me they have dates available but they're having problems with the Prometric system too!  And that is about the... er... nth time I've had a test centre say that to me.

Edit: just looked at Pearson VUE and they say Prometric vouchers will remain valid, provided they were purchased prior to Sept. 4th

  • Apparently the Pearson VUE website only works properly in IE...
