Currently seeing double/triple posts RRS feed

  • Question

  • At the moment there seems to be an issue with replies being posted two or more times instead of one.
I posted to this thread just now and it was registered twice. I know that I didn't hit refresh or back or anything .
This one has some recent replies that are even worse. It has one double and even one triple reply so far.

  • Click on My Settings (upper right), turn off the "Always Show Answers First on Thread Page" option.  Click Submit, then visit that thread again and see if the problem is resolved.

  • "Always Show Answers First on Thread Page" was already off but I fiddled around with the settings and noticed that it's related to "Threaded View".
When I switch to flat view the double and triple messages doesn't appear anymore. I don't know if this is a bug or if I just don't understand why I would like some messages more than one time but Flat View can do.

    Thanks,
    Per

  • Yes, I see this in threaded view also (I was wondering why everybody was not complaining about this).

  • I just thought people created a lot of double posts by navigating back after posting and so on. Didn't accur to me that it could be a bug until I saw it happened with one of my posts.
Why is this only occuring in some threads?

  • I am seeing it with non-threaded views. (I never use threaded view so it can be excluded in the example below)

Not so much duplicate posts coming (but that's happened a couple of times) but a single Move click often causes an error message because that single Move click is actually causing two Move actions and thus the second Move is invalid. (The move has actually happened)

This is more clearly seen with Edits where a single Edit Submit can result in two Edit explanation lines in the message.
