  • You can give it a go. Its just one organisation. you can create the business units as different organisation and you can create different security roles for different BU. Now create a separate forms for separate BU security roles. and when you assigning security assign according to BU, don't give organisation level rights.

Multiple forms are inbuilt in crm 2011.

    I hope this help.

  • Yes it could be a solution, you can manage multiple organizations via Business Units for example you have Company A, Company B, Company C and Company D. In CRM you can create all companies as business unit although they must have a one parent business unit i.e. Company Group. By implementing companies as business units you can configure the data security business unit wise i.e. Company A can see only their contacts, accounts, leads, security roles, Custom Entity Forms (multiple form cusotmizations) etc but you should also consider the limitaiton in this scenerio, few of them are:

    1. Customization will be same for companies (if you will add fields on Account form then it will be visible to all companies)

    2. Organizaiton based Ownership entities data will shared across all business units (there is no bsuiness unit level security available for Orgaqnization based ownership entities) i.e. Product etc

    Multi Forms for an Entity

We can change the order of the Form in which the system will prioratize before displaying the form and also can restrict by assigning it to a particualr security role, having a multiple form is very benifited in case of multiple departments using the same form to enter different fields i.e. Customer Service department is using the Task activity form to input Task related details customized as per their need and Sales department is also using Task activity form to input Task related details as per their need so in this case we should create two forms and only assign the Customer Service department customized form to Customer Service department security roles and assign the Sales department customized form to Sales department security roles.
