Can no longer sign in with Chrome

Question
-
Once again the forums show their poor maintenance. Cannot login using chrome. Get a sign in loop.
Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later. The Microsoft account login server has detected too many repeated authentication attempts. Please wait a moment and try again.

The cause is still unknown but the result is the microsoft account credentials on your pc are corrupt. This appears to cause ~eight 302 redirects and logon attempts that ends in the "too many repeated" message. The fix is to use one of a few methods to remove all traces of the cached credentials in order to recover.

Hi,
had the same problem three days ago. Clearing the Firefox Internet-Cache did help. So maybe there's a problem with those browsers...

Its not just chrome Issue. Its more like cookie issue, i tried in two of my machines
After My chrome browser started throwing this error and didn't want to clear cache and cookies , so I tried using Internet explorer and it worked for some time and then I started getting the same error there.
Once I cleared cookies and cache , able to login to forums without any trouble ( for now :) ).

Hi
Firefox on Win 10 64bit.
OK, have had some success (for now at least).
Having tried all sorts of things, cookies, cache, firewall and everything I could think of short of uninstall/reinstall Firefox - with no difference to the looping login I was getting.
*
What seems to have worked (tentative) was to use CCleaner - a free utility - and set it to clear everything (except saved passwords) resulted in the Forum login working fine.
*
I hope it continues to work OK.

I guess it is time to stop helping on the forums. MS obviously does not want anyone who does not use Edge to sign in. I have exhausted my attempts to get in. I use Chrome (Not firefly) and my entire online presence is mostly Google (Android phone) and has worked great.
Thanks again MS. Its a simple sign in. I guess you don't want me.
I guess I should go back to the stone ages MS. Stop all that I have working and bow done to the gods of IE.
Not going to happen.

I have tried all the posts. Now a week with no resolution. No a good sign.
This has happened before and whatever changes were reversed so that login work again. I guess that is not an option any more.
Why we as the people who you are supposed to serve have to try all sorts of things because MS screwed up shows a lot about the company.

Are you still having problem? I got email reply from fissues:
This issue is fixed now, could you please confirm it from your end.

Since I fixed the problem myself I could not verify if it is fixed for other people or not.

I got rid of my email in Credentials manager and deleted cookies. So I am asked for userid/password but when I put them in same problem.

I just find it strange that the credentials, cookies, whatever has to get deleted to resolve the problem can have this issue caused by a website. It seems viral in nature somehow.
I haven't had any real issues in the last two weeks other than sometimes the MSDN sites seem to be down as immediately my browser will display an error saying site doesn't exist or something to that effect.
Below is what my browser is set up to delete on exit. Maybe the issue is WebSite Data stored on the PC by the WebSite in question.
Update: I just signed in with an old version of Chrome, it said update to stay secure, but I didn't allow it to save my password. So now I'm going to logoff with it then try to log back on after closing and restarting Chrome. I logged off and back on with chrome, exiting to logoff and restarting to log back on, and it worked.

What really gets me is MS telling people they have bad credentials. So I guess the people affected had the credential monster come to their PC and corrupt the creds.
I think it says a lot about MS and the complete lack of QA and respect for those trying to help in the forums.
I have an Android phone and my online life is tied to Google. The fact that I can access my bookmarks on all devices (with the now exception of MS sites) is exactly what I want. Not what MS seems to want.

Are you saying you are using Chrome from an Android phone and not a PC? Or does this happen on both PC and Android phone?

Never tried to get into the forums from the phone. Just tried and got in on the phone. PC is still a no go. BTW had to install Edge to get to respond to these questions. I guess that is what MS wanted.

Ohhhhh. I thought perhaps you were somehow using Chrome from one device and the other wouldn't work. It is strange the phones Chrome works fine but not the PC's. No way I could test against how yours is setup though. Have no idea how sharing bookmarks between two devices works. Bookmarks meaning favorites I suppose.La vida loca

Issue affect both my win7x64 pc IE and chrome. Also my android phone. The pc I fixed rather easily but the phone was not so easy. Tried deleting the microsoft account from phone, cleared out chrome data and cache but did not work. Wiped the phone and back in business.

Sharing bookmarks (favs) is a simple thing. Create the bookmark in chrome (any device that you are signed in to) and it is automatically available in any device you are logged in to. Seems to me to be the way things should work. Also just tried on a tablet and can sign in to the forums. So only my PC is not working.

I have now cleared cookies, deleted credentials, rebooted, restart and I guess MS is just not up to the task of allowing a simple sign in.
I have had this user id for about 20 years and no problems until now. When I clear the cookies it asks for the password and if I put an invalid password it tells me. That works but the correct sign in still does not work.
I really have nothing else to give.

Now I can sign in with Chrome but no longer with I.E. 11. What the heck is MS doing here?
If I try to sign in with I.E. no sign in window ever appears. With Chrome it is instantaneous.
