  • Hi,

The visibility of Add New and Add Existing are controlled by security privileges Create and Append, and Append To.

  • Hi

I have the following situation. 1:n account, custom entity. If I am on the account form and create a new record for the custom entity, I always have both buttons -> new and existing. Screwed on create, append, append to on the custom entity and also on append, append to of the account. I have two results -> both buttons or none...

Any hints? I only like new, dont want existing...

    Thanks!

  • Hi,
To do this you can use the Ribbon Workbench:
    http://ribbonworkbench.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/71374-1-getting-started-with-the-ribbon-workbench
    1) Create a solution in Dynamics CRM and add the Contact Entity
    2) Load the solution into the Ribbon Workbench
    3) Select the ‘SubGrid’ ribbon from the drop down in the top right
    4) Right Click the ‘Add Existing’ button and select ‘Hide Button’
    5) This will add a ‘Hide Action’ to the Solution Elements Panel
    6) Click ‘Publish’
To reverse you can simply delete (right-click -> UnHide) the Hide Action from the Solution Elements panel and Publish again.

    hth,
    Scott

  • Hi

Customize the ribbon of the custom entity

1)Create a solution add the custom entity to that solution

    2)Export and extract the solution

    3)Modify the Customization.xml

a)Find the <RibbonDiff> tab , add the custom action to hide the Add Existing item

    CustomActions>
    <HideCustomAction Location="Mscrm.SubGrid.<entityname>.AddExistingStandard" HideActionId="Mscrm.SubGrid.<entityname>.AddExistingStandard" />
    </CustomActions>

3)Replace entityname with your custom entity

    Thanks
