The copies of Windows and Office are not genuine.

Do you have a COA sticker or genuine media with you?

For some reason it won't let me respond to my original post.  Also, I'm having problems typing into the response boxes (maybe because I'm using Mozilla browser?).

...yes, I do have the original disk for Windows XP Professional.  The little sticker is in the folder that the disk came in.  Is it possible that when I went from bootleg to Geniune it didn't update the serial?  How do I do that manually without doing a complete reinstall?

I would suggest trying the Genuine Advantage Product Key Update Tool, it is only valid for users attempting to change their current non-genuine Product Key to a genuine COA sticker (in your folder) or genuine Product Key – all without a reinstall! http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=50346&clcid=0x409

    I hope this helps,
