Add "Add contact to outlook syncronization" button RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

If I want to create a new button on the contact form, that adds that contact to the current user's outlook syncronization list what would be the best approach to do this, and is it even possible?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Morten,

Please find a possible solution below.

    • Add a custom field to the contact form to store the initials of the user e.g. Morten B. Post = MP
    • Modify the ISV.config file to add a button and script that updates the custom field with the initials of the current logged in user.
    • Ask the system users to modify the Local data group and add a view to sync contacts with the users initials.

  • Thank you for your quick reply. Is it possible to get the current user's initials using javascript only - so I can make this using javascript only and dont have to have a separate web application.

  • I figured it out, accomplished all this using ajax and an external web application doing all the heavy lifting. Thanks a lot.
