Reinstall MS Office 2007 online in to a new computer RRS feed

  • Question

  • I bought the MS Office 2007 online, after using the trial version for a couple of weeks. I had a fatal problem with the hard drive of my laptop, and I couldn't get to any programs to uninstall them. I had to replace the old laptop with a new model, and now I'm wondering how I can reinstall the MS Office 2007 in to this new computer, as I don't have any installation discs. My license number is XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    Thanks a lot.

    Paola

PS: pls find bellow the diagnostic report from the new laptop I'm using, as I cannot reboot my old computer (the one that had the Office 2007 installed).

  • Hello paola.faessler,

If you purchased Microsoft Office 2007 from Microsoft Online, you most likely were set up with an account with a company called Digital River---they handle all of Microsoft's Online Office sales.

Please review your emails from the time frame of your online Office purchase to see if there are any informational emails regarding your online account with Microsoft and/or Digital River.

If you purchased your Office as an online download from a non-Microsoft site, you may have a problem with software counterfeiting because as far as I know, except for a password-protected download site limited to college/university students enrolled in selected schools, there is no other place on the internet other than a Microsoft site where you can purchase a legal download of Office.

Could you tell us any specifics about how you acquired Office online (leaving out personal details, of course)?

One thing you can try if all else fails:  just download the trial of the specific edition of Office you purchased, and when the trial asks for a product key, use the product key you have.
