Help, can't edit sitemap to create navigation to system view RRS feed

  • I created a system view from the account entity, and I want to make a navigation button on the sitemap.  For some reason I am not able to do this.  I'm  using the XrmToolBox Sitemap editor to edit the sitemap. And believe I am using the correct URL syntax, which I got from the Microsoft CRM Developers page.  The Page titled "Open forms, views, dialogs, and reports with a URL", states

    Display a View in the Application Navigation using the Site Map

    Url=“/_root/homepage.aspx?etn=<entity logical name >&amp;viewid=%7b<GUID value of view id>%7d”

    When you use this URL, you must also specify appropriate values for <Titles> (SiteMap) and <Descriptions> (SiteMap),

    So I grabbed the GUID from the view by clicking on the send link button, extracted the guid and completed the url. 

    Using the XrmToolbox Sitemap editor, I created a new subarea under the Group Customers, and created a new sub area.  I used the default ID that is automatically generated, and entered the  entity, icon (webresource), the client, sku, title, description, and url.  Then I saved it and Updated the site map. 

    And when I click on the button that was newly created, I get an error:

    Try this action again.  If the problem continues, check the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Community for solutions or contact your organization s Microsoft Dynamics CRM Administration Finally you can contact Microsoft support.  Try Again  and close are the only options.

  • I notice that entity they are using is companies.  I assume that is the account entity renamed or is it a copy of the account with the name changed.  Because I have tried the approach where I created a custom entity named Vendors created the views and the form, but had to import the data.  I was able to create a navigation link to those views no problem,  But the issue there is, I have second dataset, that doesn't link back to the account form.  If there 's was a way to get the new custom Vendor entity in a 1 to 1 relationship and have the data come directly from the account that would work too.
