MS-CRM 2013 subgrid permission RRS feed

  • Question

  • Subgrids are great, however, I would like the UI (in general) to react to the user's permissions. E.g. I add an Opportunity subgrid to the Account form. but the user do not have any access to Opportunities. In that case, do not display the subgrid instead of giving a message 'You do not have permissions ....'. The user experience would be greatly improved (and I wouldn't have to make JS to get around this).

  • You could write JavaScript code to accomplish this.

You could check user permissions in Onload event of account entity and show the alerts based on that.

  • You can also use role based forms.  Create a form without the subgrid for the security roles that do not have access to the Opportunity entity and associate the applicable security roles to it.
