WOW, That sucks. Why and wonder why they are doing this ??

I pretty much love it. Best protection software i've trusted and used so far even out of all the top known brands.

Thxs for the link and info.

  • I dislike the part where IE settings are changed.  I must have my settings set a certain way to test our software and have to constantly go back and change the settings after One Care has run.  Because of this I was going to cancel my One Care after 1 year.  All the other features except popup blocker & phishing make me happy.  I jsut wish there was an option on the settings.  This may be great for computer illiterate people, but is a major pain in the behind for me.  I'm glad to see it's being discoutinued.  If I'd have known One Care worked this way I'd never have bought it.

Yes, the behind the scenes "protection" where OneCare changed settings was something that many complained about.

Yeah Got a few notices on it about the MS antivirus 09 cr.ap stuff.

I actually switched to Norton 2010 and love it so far. I always said i would never use them again back in like 99-02 but.. The 2010 version with live update is nice. Lightweight, fast, etc etc.. It's finally worth it i think so far. Bout time Norton did it good.

  • I knew it was going to be discontinued, but kept hoping that a new, revised edition would be available by the time it was discontinued.   Any word that will happen -- and make it better, not worse than what we already enjoy having.  It is so user friendly for a non computer person, and I feel it is safe, also.   Please, Please give us something to have when that time comes.

When your subscription expires, you can uninstall OneCare and install Microsoft Security Essentials:

See this thread for my post that highlights the differences: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecaregeneral/thread/18015f54-e826-42e1-a69a-2172373c071c
