    Hi,

    I am trying to reinstall windows7 in my computer, but I don't know the product key. I misplaced the windows original CD.

    My machine has windows7 Professional OEM version, and I want clean reinstallation .

    How can I extract product key from this computer before I reinstall windows? I know it is in the registry womewhere in this machine, but if I reformat, then I need to input the product key and I don't know have any record about the product key.

    If it is an OEM system builder installation then download Belarc Adviser and it will tell you what your key is. However, if this is an OEM SLP activation then the key you need to use to perform a clean installation is on a COA sticker on the bottom, back or side of your computer or possibly in the battery compartment of some laptops.
