File Corruption in Right Folder RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been using SyncToy 2.0 frequently to backup files from a laptop to an external USB hard drive.  It seems that just about every other time I attempt a backup, the backup fails because the Preview step detects a corrupt file on the Right folder (backup drive).  The error in the SyncToy log is:

System.BadImageFormatException: The FileSyncProvider failed while detecting changes.

All files on the Right folder were created by SyncToy and not touched by anything else, so I think SyncToy is to blame for the corruption.  Chkdsk has worked so far to fix the corrupted files, which is good, but do I need to run Chkdsk after every backup to repair files corrupted by SyncToy?

Do you think you could paste the complete stack that you are seeing here? And could you also paste your system configuration ? And I suspect that it is loading of some other dll as opposed to any of the files that you are backing up that is coming up as corrupted.
