I want to play my XBOX360 on my laptop that has Vista Home Premium RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I am using Windows Vista Home Premium with the media center that detects my XBOX 360.  The set up/configuration runs smoothly until I encounter Windows Live Onecare.  Please help a damsel in distress, please.  And please make sure you break it down enough where I can understand XD

This is the quote from XBOX.com at this link:  http://www.xbox.com/en-US/pcsetup/mcevista.htm

"Windows Vista-based Media Center PC includes all the software to use your Xbox 360 as an Extender. You do not need to download additional software. Use the following steps to connect your Xbox 360."

I get through all the steps at this link:  http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/mediacenter/firewall.mspx - because my firewall was blocking my media center, figured that out.

    Except Step:
    Configuring Windows Live OneCare

"Windows Live OneCare needs to be configured to enable your Windows Media Center Extender to connect to your Windows Vista-based PC."

I did a search from my Start Menu and I don't seem to have this software, so I Google this link:

Where it offers me a demo, free trial, or pay $49.99 for Windows live Onecare - I was lead to believe that I don't need to download any extra software in order to play my XBOX360 on my laptop.

So I'm still at the configuration firewall link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/mediacenter/firewall.mspx  : At the Windows Live Onecare set up, unsure of what to do next.  It says I need it in order to play my 360, although I should already have it.  Please help.  Thank you for your time and patience.
