Thank you for contacting the Live OneCare program forum. I fully support Jim's questions. I would like to see those answers too. In addition, here is another option for you. Once you have verified that you have removed as much of the OneCare program from your computer as you can, go to the following link:

    http://safety.live.com

Once there, click Full Service Scan

Read the Service Agreement and click Accept if you accept the terms of use

It should say "Loading Scanning Tools"

    Then click Customize...

Uncheck all of the boxes with the exception of the Registry cleaner scan (make sure this box is checked) and the Disk cleanup scan (make sure this box is checked too)

    Then click Next

Follow all th prompts to clean your registry out all of your uninstalled programs where remnants are left behind. Then reboot. When you get to a desktop, open Internet Explorer and go to the following link:

    http://www.OneCare.com

Download and try reinstalling the program again.

Thank you for contacting the Live OneCare program forum.

  • Hello Jessica, when you try to install One Care and the installation fails you should see an error message and error number. Please post that information. Are you installing from a CD or from the One Care site? Have you uninstalled the expired trial of One Care?
