Firewall working too hard.

Question
-
Ok, I've had absolutly no problems with OneCare ever since i started using it. Then i get home 2day and my computer's shut down. So i figured my not so tech savy family crashed it again. I boot the comp and there's no "Windows recoverd from a serious error." message so i figure the caused my problems somehow.
Anyway back on subject, now the firewall is just plane blocking everything! Even programs that were allowed before. It'll just block them without asking. The setting "Always ask whether to block or allow programs." is checked. I've restored the firewall to default and rebooted my computer a few times already and it does the same thing. Anyone have a clue why it's doing this or why it just started all of a sudden?
Thanks

I've not heard of this happening, but it sure sounds like the Firewall or the OneCare database has gotten out of whack.
I'd start by trying the
Firewall repair tool - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2468376&SiteID=2
If that doesn't solve it, the database reset tool:
And, perhaps a reinstall of OneCare or contact support if the problem persists and you wish to avoid a reinstall if possible.

Alright i tried all of your sugestions but nothing worked. Right back where i was. I'll be calling support asap. But I did notice that this might be a Windows problem. Onecare was saying a admin can block or unblock programs everytime it would block one. I then disabled UAC for now and it's not blocking the programs anymore, but it's still not asking me what to do.
Thank you for your help though. All other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I just opened IE and it blocked it. I did somehow manage to keep FireFox from being blocked.Thursday, October 16, 2008 5:27 AM -
Yes, it sounds like it may be a Windows issue. Perhaps performing a system restore or booting from the Vista DVD and selecting the option to repair may be the solution.

I have checked my firewall to check support soft and it is not blocked, but Iget the message that it is blocked from One Care.
Advise Please.

I am not sure what you are asking, Jasmine01. What software do you believe OneCare is blocking?
You may want to go ahead and contact support -
