Changed Computer Name after installation of CRM 4.0 Server RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I changed the name of the computer after the installation of CRM 4.0.

    Now it gives an error

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)

It was working fine before. Where do we configure the SQL server name in MS CRM so that i change the name? Any other procedure I can follow?

    Thanks,

You can make the changes in Registry (run regedit) and go to

HKEY_LOCAL_KEY --> software --> Microsoft --> MSCRM and there you need to  change the

    configdb

    database

    metabase

But bfore doing this take a backup of the key (mscrm) and then make the changes

If this doesnt work then I would really suggest you to go for new import and make the work around.
