WHS 2011 32bit? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I would like to use WHS 2011 on a desktop computer.  However, I understand WHS 2011 is ONLY 64bit.   I have a relatively good 32bit desktop computer which I would like to use WHS 2011 on it.

I read an article somewhere online where this guy installed WHS 2011 on an HP XW4400 desktop computer.  That is the same computer I have which I would like to install WHSon it.  Where I am confused, how was this guy able to install an OS which is made for 64bit on a 32bit computer?  Is there a tweak or trickery going on where you can trick the OS?

  • If the hardware (processor, BIOS, chipset, drivers) supports a 64 bit OS, you should be able to install. You can probably determine whether the hardware does support 64 bit from the HP web site.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
