Deleting files on duplicated shares extremely slow RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have pointed the My Documents folder on the client computer to their user share on WHS.  Shares have Duplication on.  Opening and saving files seems okay.  However, when I delete files it is extremely slow. For example, deleting six 80kb jpg files took 20 seconds "Preparing to Delete" and then 45 seconds "Deleting".  On a batch of about 20 files it took several minutes.  Is this to be expected?

  • Not really , unless WHS was busy doing a disk intesitive taks at the moment you tried deleting files?
But I suppose you mean that this behaviour is consistent over time?

Could be there is some problem with your disks, but then I would expect that saving/writing files would be slow to...
Did you try running checkdisk /f on all disks?
