Vista Validation Failed RRS feed

  • Question

  • I shut down my computer toady to load a new printer. I turned it back on and I get a validation error for Vista - among other things Control Panel does not work. I purchased my copy from the MS Store and I have a valid key. Why can't I get this to work again?

P.S. And thanks for the questionnaire about how I feel about people who steal software. To bad it was not aimed at the possibility you have problems in the software.

  • Hi Rick,

"I turned it back on and I get a validation error for Vista "

Would you be more specific as to what validation error message you receive?  Also, in order to recieve the best support, we request all users initially go to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ and click the "Validate Windows" button. If there are any problems, look to the lower left of the page for a light gray error code similar to this: [0xc004c4a8]. Record this code then run the Genuine Diagnostics tool at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 , then click the Windows tab, click the "Copy" button, then paste the report (and the error code) into a response message in this thread.

    Thank you,
