Hi There, I installed a genuine copy of windows xp home not too long ago and entered the product during installation, but now on the taskbar a pop-up emerges everyday telling me i have to activate my windows, so i click on the pop-up, follow the steps and enter my product key. but it tells me its incorrect? i used the microsoft genuine advantage diagnostic tool to show my windows validation info can you please help me?!?!

Please follow the guidance Dan has provided you. This will be your best option. Also our issue appears to be outside the scope of the Genuine Advantage forum. Please contact Dell Technical Support @ 800- 624-9896 and request the recover software media disc's for your particular model. This will all your system to be imaged back to its original state. Please bear in mind recovery CD’s are specific to your computer manufacturer. They should be able to assist with your request and/or questions. Since the telephone number and web sites are not maintained by Microsoft we cannot make any warranty as to their validity.

For best results, do a clean installation of XP Home using the Dell OS reinstallation CD that came with your Dell Dimension 46001 computer.
If you lost the CD, call Dell and get one for about $15.
