Workflow Timing Out RRS feed

  • Hi Guys,

    I am having issues with Workflows and finding it taking a alot of time to kick in.

    My work consist of changing the status of one contact from active to inactive, but the workflow takes over an 1 hour to succeed.

    I have Rollup 1 and Rollup 3 installed, but i cant find the reason why it would take so long for it to complete

    Can someone help please ?

  • Do you have many workflows?
    do yu have many db updates concurrently?

    Workflows fire asynchronously which means only when resources are vailable will the workflows fire.

  • Hi,

    This might because AsyncOperationBase table grows to be very large. When the table contains millions of records, performance is slow.

    You should apply this KB also http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957871/

  • I have a similar issue but am having issues running the scripts as shown on http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;968520.

    When I run the count script it states that I have 389608 records. I have tried to run the delete script but after 16 hours it was still running.

    When I try and add the first index's to speed this up i get the following error in SQL (note the second index adds fine).

    CREATE NONCLUSTERED INDEX [dbo].CRM_AsyncOperation_CleanupCompleted
    ON [dbo].[AsyncOperationBase] ([StatusCode],[StateCode],[OperationType])

    Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 1
    Incorrect syntax near '.'.

    Does anyone have any ideas why this would not work.

  • This script is very long to run, try to run the script with just one statecode, this is separate job and is help me to run that.

    Another try is to run a update stat in your SQL database, if you have install some plugin in CRM, the sql job for update stat not work itself.
    Update stat help me to run the script to clean the table.

    When i run the clean script here, i receive a time of 3.5 day, after update stat, the time is 2.5 hours.
