Hacking to a person is getting to the any of the personal information that he don't want to share with. It also includes intruding your piracy.
Hacking on general term can only be stated illegal access to any information not meant sharing.
Example:
Suppose you have kept a picture in some social networking site and another person has taken a copy of it in his computer
This according to you is hacking but in general terms since he has taken a copy of your picture.
But Legally he may not be hacking as in the site you have kept the picture so that others can see it and may be it is not possible to copy protect it.
hence hacking defination MAY differ from person to person and place to place .........Thursday, December 27, 2007 12:31 PM -
Hacker has several common meanings, the unifying characteristic of which is only that it refers to a person who is an avid computer enthusiast. It is most commonly used as a pejorative by the mass media to refer to a person who engages in illegal computer trespass remotely via some sort of communications network (e.g., the Internet, a LAN or a dial-up network); its original meaning referred to an unauthorized user of the telephone company network (now called a Phreaker) but it can also refer to people engaged in ethical computer hacking (e.g., debugging or fixing security problems), to the members of the open source and free software community, or to home computer hobbyists.Saturday, December 29, 2007 5:41 AM

A Hack is usually a technique used to subvert, misuse or subtly change a program, gadget or mechanism in such a way as to change, or add to, its functionality.
Hack has several meanings in the technology and computer science fields: a clever or quick fix to a computer program problem; a clumsy or inelegant solution to a problem; or a modification of a program or device to give the user access to features that were otherwise unavailable to them.

The essence of hacking is finding unintended or overlooked uses for the laws and properties of a given situation and then applying them in new and inventive ways to solve a problem....The problem could be the lack of access to a computer system or figuring out a way to make old phone equipment control a model railroad system. Usually, the hacked solutions solve these problems in unique ways, unimaginable by those confined to conventional methodology.Monday, February 18, 2008 2:58 PM
