SharePoint Product and Technologies re Configuration in Project Server 2007 RRS feed

    Hi,

    I have been working in Project Server 2007,

    i tried opening SharePoint Central Admin site , the page doesn't open,it shows a message "The page cannot be displayed".

    I tried reconfiguring SharePoint Product and Technologies Wizard to an existing server farm.

    I got a message configuration failed:

    My question is:

    Shall i try configuring the Wizard to a new farm instead of an existing farm?

    If yes,what will be the impact? will i lose any data or something which i was using earlier in the database?

     

    Please help me.

    Hi Gokulraj

    Configuring a new farm would mean creating new configuration DB and all new Web App etc.. while you can restore the content DB etc... but still you would loose configurations, hence rather than bulding a new farm you should try try connecting to existing farm using the existing sharpoint config DB

    If you are facing problem while executing Sharepoint Config wizard introspect why that error is there what if again that error re appears and instead of creating new farm

    If you create a new farm you will a blank farm and will need to migrate the Project Server databases to the new farm. I would stick the the existing farm for now and try to find out what has happen to this farm and resolve the issues there.
