off topic - Using Hotmail through POP account

  I am using Microsoft Outlook 2002, and trying to use it to access my hotmail account through the POP3 server.  I insert the incoming and outgoing mail servers provided, and when I try to send/receive mail from the server, it says it failed to connect.  I have followed the directions to the "T" for setting it up in Outlook, but is there something that was missed to which it won't connect?  Any help would greatly be appreciated.  Thanks.
