Hello,
I have successfully installed CRM 2011 even with the CRM databases being on a named instance separate from the report server that is.
Now I try to install the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Reporting Extensions. I have to use a config.xml file for that too. Now the installation of the CRM Reporting Extensions fails with the above message.
For one thing before I started the installation MS SQL Server 2008 SP1 was already installed.
Then I installed also the SP2 on the MS SQL Server that provides the Reporting Services for CRM 2011.
I still get the above message.
I googled, but cannot make out any special SP1 for SQL Server Reporting Services 2008.
Does such a service pack exist, if yes, where can I download it? Why then would it be so hidden?
And if it doesn't exist what is this message trying to tell me - since I already installed SQL Server 2008 SP2?
Would anybody have an idea?
Thank you and regards
Andreas
Hi,
I just realized there is also this warning:
17:43:35|Warning| Check ReportServerInstanceValidator : Warning: Reports will not be published for some organizations because the Report Server instances used by these organizations differ from the instance selected during Microsoft Dynamics CRM Reporting Extensions
Setup.
I had to define the named instance of CRM on the other server which was not necessary last time since then it was all on the same server. The trouble was I just copied the config file without filling in the servername\instanceName
Hi,
found out that when I try to open the URL of the REport Server it is not available. Thats the trouble. I have to see what's wrong. Thank you anyway. Should I find the solution I shall post it.
