Live Mesh Mobile changing time stamp of file RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

Does anyone else having this problem? It seems that Live Mesh Mobile is changing the timestamp of files synchronized.
This is not very good, especially if you sync photos taken with a camera built-in to the mobile.

Or is it only me having this problem?
If not, it would be great if that could be changed in a later version...

    Best regards,
    Rene

  • Thanks for the additional information.
What's interesting is that you can get it to work at all as the current client software has some problems on the newer HTC devices. What you are experiencing may be part of that overall issue with the HTC hardware.
So, I'll call it a variation of the bug that affects Live Mesh on the HTC devices. There's no word on when a new client will be made available to resolve the issues, unfortunately.

  • Hi, Rene. I am not seeing this issue.
What device are you using? What is the OS version?
Are the synchronized files on the device or storage card or both?
Are you accessing the files on the device using any software that may be changing attributes? If so, then the files *are* being changed on the device, so they will resynch to the Mesh.

  • Hi Steve

Im using Live Mesh on a HTC HD2 with Windows Mobile 6.5.
The synchronized files are synced from Live Mesh to the storage card. The files are originally on my computer with correct times. They are synchronized to Live Mesh and from there, they are synchronized to my Windows Mobile device.

As soon as they are synchronized, they get the time stamp changed to the copy date and time. There is no other software accessing those files. It happens to all files which are synched from Live Mesh to my Mobile (with pictures and also with .cab files).

  • Hi Steve

Sometimes I have problems too with Live Mesh on my HTC device. The only way to get it working, is open and close Internet Explorer on Windows Mobile before starting Live Mesh.

Unfortunately it seems that the Live Mesh project has stopped. No new version, no bug fixing... Hopefully it'll be continued. It's a great tool...

Anyway, many thanks for your help.

  • I'm hoping for some developments in the near future for Live Mesh - both the PC/Mac clients and the mobile client - as Live Mesh is a great service.
