Installation usability suggestions RRS feed

  • It's a little pointless asking for the Installation Type when the only type supported is a New Install, why have a drop down menu with only one option, I assume there will be a recovery install added later, but even with two options a radio box would be better.

It's also hard to tell which of the forward or back button is selected in the post install setup from looking at it. The selected and non selected button are the reverse of what you'll normally expect. You also can't tell what the keyboard shortcut for the next button is.

Finally, not related to the installer, WHS does haven't all the features of cheap dedicated hardware, if you want a download manager you'll need to install it yourself and it doesn't do as good a job of sharing random USB devices, like scanners, as a cheap AUD110 device here would like the Netcomm NP3680 http://www.netcomm.com.au/PrintServers/printservers.php
