    Hi Vikas,

Since you have past experience with both C,C++  and VB 6, you wont find much difficulty in coding in vb.net and C#.

Personally i prefer VB.net compared to C#, as C# has many strict rules and regulations compared to vb.net like strict typecasting.etc.

If you want to start learning asp.net and AJAX for the Academic Project, i highly recommend watching the video tutorials on http://www.asp.net and http://ajax.asp.net

The website is full of tutorails and videos which will help you in getting started in no time at all.

If you have any quiries in asp.net or AJAX, feel free to ask.

    Good luck!

  • HI

as you have knowledge of C, C++, and VB6.0. you can go for VB.net. Coz you will find many same concepts of vb6.0 in vb.net. but in c# you will get many dificulties in syntaxes and concepts if you want to learn in short period.

you can learn VB.net in 15 days also and from MSDN and many websites like dotnetspider.com and codeguru.com.

So personally i will prefer you to go for VB.net.

    Vins.
