can't backup with disks? RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I wanted to backup my files but I keep going round and round with One Care.  It doesn't seem to want to let me create a backup with disks because it can't be set to do it routinely.  I'm not always plugged in with this laptop so I just want to do a backup now and move on.  I've looked through different Help screens but can't seem to get this going.....

  • I'm not sure what you are asking, lynners. OneCare can be configured to backup to CD/DVD, External disks, some Flash media, and a network Share. It can't backup to CD/DVD if you are configuring Centralized backup for all PCs, you need to configure for a single PC only to do this.

backup can be scheduled to run with Tune-up or on its own schedule. With CD/DVD, you will be reminded for backup, it won't happen automatically. If Backup is scheduled and you are using an external disk that is not plugged in when backup runs, backup will fail.

What, exactly, are you trying to do?
