Demo Environment Setup RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have recently deployed CRM for a customer.  They also would like demo environment setup for testing purposes.  Might someone have some thoughts about doing this to get me pointed in the right direction?

    Thanks

  • You are able to install CRM multiple times on the same domain. Microsoft only recommends that in this situation you should have a different Active Directory Organisational Unit for each CRM instance.

A few items to be aware of include

    1. You wull need a licence for each seperate CRM install.

    2. The Microsoft CRM 4.0 VPC mentioned by TGB is good for certain purposes but be aware there is a expiration period on the VPC.

  • Hi Chris,

Normally Microsoft CRM 4.0 VPC is used for Demo Environment. You can download it from http://msmvps.com/blogs/jeffloucks/archive/2010/08/10/crm-partner-demo-environment-download-4-0.aspx

This VPC has all the softwares on which you can run your tests and demos. It includes MS CRM 4.0, SharePoint MS SQL Server 2008 etc. It is an excellent thing to have.
