SyncToy 2.1 (x64) Won't Run RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Dell desktop PC with Windows 7.  I've been using SyncToy successfully for a year now.  All of a sudden the past week or two it won't run at all any more.  It immediately opens a window that says "SyncToy has stopped working    Windows is checking for a solution to the problem".  Then it just closes.  It doesn't give me a solution or any idea what to try.  I've tried rebooting and uninstalling and re-downloading and re-installing several times.  It still works great on my ASUS PC with Windows 7 but not on my Dell desktop.  Any ideas for a fix or work-around would be much appreciated.

  • Since you uninstalled and reinstalled, there may be other problems on the pc (hard drive failure(?)) which may be affecting the program. My advice is to back up all important files off of the computer while you continue to resolve the issue.

Look into the Power command Robocopy which can help copy files as substitute until this is resolved.
