8 mb SDHC issue - computer won't run hotfix

My PC won't recognize an 8 mb SDHC card...I downloaded the KB hotfix, but when I tried to install it, my PC produces a message: "You do not need to install this update since your service pack is newer" etc...

This card works on another PC I have, a newer computer, but both are running Windows XP with all the latest Service Pack updates

Can anyone help?
