WHS and BT homehub (again) RRS feed

  • Question

  • now pulling my hair out and didnt have that much to start with.

have been to the home hub manager and added the home server as an application set up ports 80,443 and 4125 as per the port forward section.
set static ip for the home server
and still no matter what my www.*************.hphomeserver.com page shows my homehub manager page. as you can imagine having this open to the internet is scary.
the HP whs remote access config fails on UPnP (to be expected once i had read up that the BT hub aint very good at this) and fails on remote web from the internet.
i am really at a loss, bought this WHS only for remote access and after 3 days of tinkering i feel deflated.
anyone have any ideas or areas that i could look into ??

  • Were you trying to access your server from inside your private networ?  If so that is quite expected for most routers.  It's always best to test these network setups by accessing the site via another network that will be external to your home, i.e. mobile phone or friends house.
