  • Question

  • Hi, I am planning to take the Office 2010 exams through my workplace and want to start with Word. I have been to the Microsoft website to find the exam details (skills tested, about etc) but it says there are no preparation tools and resources available at the moment. I think the exams are available now (I am in the UK) but obviously it would help to have some resources which I can study prior to taking the exam. I am using Office 2010 at work so am getting some first hand experience but I'm not using all the features so think study resources or even test questions would be helpful. Does anybody have any idea where I could find such things please? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

  • Hi Katieb168,

I'm just starting the 2010 track myself, however I did recently obtain the Microsoft Office Master 2007 certification (the 2007 exams I did was: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Vista).  I found the O'Reilly material very good for Office 2007.  While I can't say first hand what their 2010 books are like, if they are anything like the previous versions, you should be fine :)

  • Hello Katieb168,

I recently took Word and Excel 2010 Exam. I used 2007 Practice test by Measureup to practice and Office 2010 to practice all the new features that have been added in 2010. There is also a lot of information available on Internet regarding the new features in 2010.

You can get the list of new features in Word 2010, by clicking on http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/what-s-new-in-word-2010-HA010372687.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HA010370239

  • Hi KitKatNinja and Okhandiar,

Sorry it has taken a while to reply but thank you so so much for your advice it is greatly appreciated! Work have now asked that I do the Windows 7 exam first so Office has been put on the backburner but at least it gives me time to look into your suggested sites. It is good to know there is useful revision material out there.

    Thank you again :)
