Access and password problems

Question
-
So I had a working "server" running on XP with a lot of file shares and a raid card. I decided to make the move to WHS and so far I'm regretting it, please help.
So the install went fine but I'm having horrible problems accessing the shared folders from the other computers on the network.
One is a Vista Home Premium machine and keep getting an error that the local password and the WHS user account password do not match. When I try to update them using the "update password" thing on the connector I always get and error saying that the the password on the home server is incorrect. I know that they are the same and I have deleted the user account on the server and created it again just to check. I have also changed the password on both the local computer and the server. Same thing.
When I try to access any of the shared folders on the server I get and "Access Denied" error.
Just to make sure it wasn't something strange with the computer I set the connector up on my laptop (XP MCE) same thing. Both the password and the folder access problem.
Any help is very appreciated!

Possibly the actual login name and the displayed username don't match.
To check this on the client machine do: Start, Run, type control userpasswords2 and hit Enter. This will open a window that shows the actual login names. If you select a user you and click properties you will see the loginname and also the displayed name. The name of the WHS account should match the actual loginname (or the other way around, whichever you like best)
If that doesn't work you can try:
On the Client computer go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys and see that the FOLDER AND ALL FILES in it have Full permissions for the Administrators GROUP and SYSTEM account.

or
On the client computer: Start, Run, type rundll32.exe keymgr.dll, KRShowKeyMgr, hit enter. Then find the name of your WHS, highlight it and "Remove it". Logoff, then back in, and update your password one final time through the WHS client. If all goes well, it should resolve it.

I went with the second option and it worked like a charm. Thank you very much!
