No user exists after fresh install RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just installed a clean installation of Dynamics CRM 2011 Server.

There were no errors on installation, but when I attempt to browse the site (as the domain administrator who installed the account) I get an error indicating "No Microsoft Dynamics CRM user exists with the specified domain name and user ID."

I have already read the other posts with similar issues, so to cut to the chase:

    1. I added the URL both by name and IP to the IE Trusted Sites list.

    2. I've tried both the fully qualified domain name and NT4 short domain variant.

    2. I tried every combination of http://servername   http://servername/company  http://ip  http://ip/company

    3. I checked the SystemUser table in the CRM SQL database, and the user account is present, and is not disabled and is not deleted.

    4. I restarted the server and tried all the above again.

    5. When I try to configure a CRM Client workstation (logged in as same user), I receive the following error: "There is a problem communicating with the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server."

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    - Brad

  • Complete uninstall and reinstall fixed it.

    Didn't really do anything differently.

Not sure what happened, but it is working now.

    Thanks

  • Hi Brad,

How you used that domain administrator account to configure any of the services during the installation?

What user is the CRMAppPool (that is on the IIS manager) running?

Have you tried with http://localhost/orgname from the server?

  • Damian, thanks for the response.

    1. During installation, I configured all the services to use the "Network Service" account.

    2. The CRMAppPool was also set for "Network Service."  I tried changing it to the domain admin account and "Local System" account then recycled the app pool, and still the same result.

    3. I also tried using localhost instead.  Same error, unforunately.
