Genuine version of Office will NOT validate RRS feed

  • Question

  • I purchased my copy of Office Standard 2007 from Costco online. I received it sealed in plastic wrap. It installed correctly, no issues. Now, when I try to add apps or tools (like Outlook Backup tool) it says my version of Office is not valid.

Here are my diag results which state Office VLK invalid. It is a valid copy with a valid license key! How can I fix this?

  • Your MGA report shows you have a non-genuine copy of Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise edition installed.  Please uninstall this non-genuine copy of Office, then install your genuine copy of Microsoft Office Standard 2007 using the Office CD and product key you purchased from Costco.

  • denisess,

Thank you for posting your diagnostic information. Diagnostic results help our team in determining the root cause of your issue. The Office Enterprise 2007 product key installed on this computer was not assigned by Microsoft.

This is why you may be seeing the "Software Counterfeiting" messages on your computer. You will need to uninstall Office Enterprise 2007 before any further complications occur from being non-genuine. As Carey mentioned, please contact Costco and request for the software media you had purchased the computer with.

Also if you have lost, broken, or misplaced your original Microsoft Office or Microsoft Publisher installation CD, you can order replacement media from Microsoft @ http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302822/en-us

Please don't hesitate re-posting if you need further assistance.
