can java code an operating system RRS feed

  • hi friendz........out there.

    recently i am introduce to the wonderful world of java....and found that it is somewhat like c,c++.
    so guys i am in dilemma that can i use java to make an operating system..

    one basic problem that i see is use of virtual machine (cause virtual machines uses os).
    guys dropin ur views..

  • i believe it cant code a OS....the very simple reason being it is OS dependent....but again a question arises why not make it self-sustainable?...but then i would say its still not that flexible to an OS....i guess those of who here are java geeks or prefer java as their primary language, would love commenting on this ad infact should comment on this...

  • Y Not ....  I think we can make it ! Have You heared about the JAVAOS , which is a operating system with java virtual machine attached ! It is developed by Sun ! IT is written fully based on java programming Language !! also JX  is a similar Os written in java !

       We can develop the Os using Java  !  I dono why you asked this question ! Can you say me why not java language can be used to code OS ??
