XP error message RRS feed

  • Question

  • First time doing this so please be patient with me:

I am having to reload XP every few days. The desktop task bar turns white and I cannot get online. I use the CD to reinstall XP then I am able to get back on line. The desktop task bar turns back to blue.

I receive two different error messages while I am re-installing XP.

1- procedure entry point GetRequestRuntimeVersion could not be located in the dynamic link library mscoree.dll

    2- c:\windows\microsoft.net\

    framework\v2.050727\mscorwks.dll could not be loaded.

3- After closing out each of these errors. I receive error #1 again 16 times.

4- After closing out #1 16 times, then I have to close out #2 again 1 time.

I have also looked into upgrading to windows 7 but I get another error message when I try to run the compatibility adviser. That error message is windows installer is not on my computer. Not sure how to get that so I can see if I can upgrade to windows 7.

When replying please include every detail, as stated earlier I am new at this.

    Thanks in advance...Tina
