  • And the above is what I actually got after submitting the original post. Luckly I had the foresight to copy the text of the post -- anticipating that yet more was to be found as broken:

Did anybody actually test this new 'editor' before launching it live last week.

    1. When using the QUOTE function, the cursor cannot be placed in the message body to add new text; I must open the post in HTML mode and create a line to accept the text.

    2. The margins in the new editor are FUBAR, and totally unreleated to the actual presentation in the viewer.

    3. The HTML editor is incorrectly defining embedded <blockquote> tags in content that does not have embedded quote content.

    4. Turns out the IMAGE posting functionality is not working -- at all! Embedding an image with external URL does not retrieve the images from the external site (i.e. a SkyDrive); attempting to use the INSERT operation to browse to a local image just flat out fails -- the Image dialog closes.

    5. Several long-standing known BUGS are still not fixed. (Like the missing QUOTE button from the toolbar, and the inability to properly import and tag <IL> and <OL> content pasted from an external resource.)

    6. Why does the SUBMIT button at the bottom of THIS post editor (the CREATE NEW POST form) display the warning page that I'm navigating away from this page. Of course I am! I'm trying to submit a completed post!

What browser are you using. I can't repro using latest Chrome for #1 or #4. For #5, what 'external source' are you pasting from? Submit on a new thread doesn't repro either #6, users only see that warning dialog if they click something other than submit, so they don't lose their work. Re: #2, we have a bug on this, considered minor compared to some of the other bugs/issues we are tracking.

  • What browser are you using.
Most ironically, I am using Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7 SP1.
