Windows Explorer Search RRS feed

  • Question

  • Double clicking on my computer to open up Windows Explorer and then clicking on the "search" button in the window toolbar appears to have no effect (no search dialogue is opened). Will this button be removed in preference to Windows Desktop Search or is this a a bug with Explorer?

I can confirm that the search button doesn't do anything. WDS replaced the standard windows search, so it must have broken that button too.

I wish they'd bring back the standard search, or at least the option. YMMV.

  • I completely agree with you with regards to the old search, I use WDS in outlook 2007 and it fantastic, but as far as in explorer is just drives me nuts as typically the place I want to search isn't indexed.
