  • Hi Steve,

    I have the same problem with a HP laptop - been using it (validated) for over 7 months.  Now it decides to show invalid product key?

    Office programs show properly registered.

        How is the weather for you...shinning bright I am sure :-) ?  As you noticed I removed your email address as we want to keep from posting any personal identifiable information (PII). Below are some steps for you to follow. Also please include any error codes and messages which you receive. Error codes and messaging coupled with the MGA Diagnostic Results will allow me to analyze what you are experiencing which will allow me to formulate a resolution for you. 

    Please follow the steps below as it could resolve your issue. If need be, provide us with additional information to determine the cause of this issue.

    Make sure you are logged on as an Administrator.

    Confirm you are using the most current version of Genuine Advantage by clicking Validate Office on the website below:

    If the above steps do not resolve your issue, continue below.

    The MGADT website will attempt to resolve the validation errors you are experiencing with Office.

    Please run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Test (MGADT) so that I may analyze the results.

    By clicking the link below, you will download the MGADT.  Then click the Run button. Then click the Run button again. Then click the Continue button to perform the diagnostic. The Windows tab should show, click the Copy button to paste your report to the clipboard.  Then paste the report into this thread on this Forum by adding a post in it and pressing Ctrl V (to paste the text). Clicking the OK button will clear the Diagnostic window. Here is the download link:

    Please tell us about the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) for your copy of Microsoft Office.

    1. What edition/version of Office do you have? To find your edition/version click Start, Word Options, Resources, About,there you should find the title of your edition.

    ·         Office Professional Plus

    2. Does it read "OEM Software" or "OEM Product" in black lettering?

    3. Or, does it have the computer manufacturer's name in black lettering?

    4. Please provide the customer scenario you are experiencing.

    5. DO NOT post the Product Key.
