Running on 2003 Server RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    Will SyncToy 2.0 run on a Server2003 R2 platform.

I don't see it as one of the supported operating sytems. ( I hope this does not answer my own question)

But this is the perfect solution to replace a batch procedure running xcopy for backups.

  • It likely will work, although like you say, since it is not a tested or supported environement, we can not guarantee that there will not be issues.

If you were to run SyncToy on a supported platform and connect it to your Server2003 machine through a shared network this should work.

Is there any reason why you have not tested it for 2003?
I need to keep directories on two win2003 servers in sync on a daily basis and SyncToy seems to be a good solution - if it works?
