How to add a second Windows Home Server to a network? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I already have installed one WHS and it's working great. I would like to install another, however, since i already have a client on my computer it won't let me install it and I don't see any place to choose which home server you connect to in order to setup the second?

  • I realized I guess you just start with a new client and setup with the new software.

  • Make sure you give each server a unique name, as well. Other caveats: a client PC can only be joined to a single server, and (without more network skills that most home users and many enthusiasts have) you'll find getting both of them on the Internet for remote access a chore. Best practice for remote access is to put the files you will wnat to get to from afar on a single server, and join the home PCs you will want to access remotely to that server. Then just configure remote access for that server, and ignore the other one.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
